How do we ask others to join Islam?
This is one of the questions that one guy in the audience asked Shiek Tahir Khalid during the lecture I went to and his response was amazing.
He said; ‘Do NOT force them into it, dont go and tell them about how the need to join Islam and the evidences, do not do that.’
They dont need someone to tell them about Islam, if they want to find out about Islam then they would go and do their own research.
The key is, they should feel it.
They should feel the difference when they are surrounding muslims people.
To demonstrate an example he mentioned how an guy converted to Islam because of a basketball game. Yes, a basketball game.
He was used to playing basketball with his friends, non-muslims, and they would really get into the game so there was some cursing, fussing like every single normal game he was used to.
Once, he was asked to go and play basketball with a group of muslims, and it clicked to him, why do they treat each other like that? why does it feel different? They were not cursing, they didnt care about the game, all they really wanted was to have fun.
& that was when he realised Islam is different and so he did his research, and converted to Islam.
Remember, not to force other none muslims to join Islam but they should feel the difference with muslims and IF they DONT, then there must be something wrong with the muslim environment and you need to CHANGE that.
